Throughout his career Ian has had a passion for community capacity building and social justice and therefore as healthy as his salaried positions he has been involved in both creating and governing a expansive range of community organizations at local, national and international levels. He has held senior executive positions for the Government of Western Australia and also worked in Local Government and community organizations. More than 200 volunteers help Anglicare throughout the year. The Board of Directors holds responsibility for the governance of Anglicare WA. Setting the strategic direction of Anglicare WA, establishing goals for management and monitoring the achievement of these goals. The Board has committees to promote its work. The role of Senior Management is to manage the business. The CEO works with the Board to prosper strategy and direction, providing the bridge between management and the Board. John brings 20 years experience in strategy, governance and nonprofit leadership to Anglicare WA. Erica has extensive experience in strategy, leadership, change management and business planning. Michelle was WA’s Public Advocate for five years, has been the Senior Member of two Commonwealth Tribunals and a Director of Social Policy with the Department of Premier and Cabinet.She has extensive experience leading and influencing government and community organizations to address contemporary, intricate social challenges in our community. One of the key elements of the Sam bell vision was that the agency must operate at the highest professional standards. We are now a statewide community services agency with a unique range of services.

Moves to establish a general social services agency as an outreach of the Church began in the 1960's. It was not until the premature 1970's however that definite progress was made. One of the key elements of the Sam bell vision was that the agency must operate at the greatest professional standards. As Sam bell said, such an agency must perpetual be ready to donate an account of its services, to maintain standards to always evaluate its work and its performance and the needs it is servicing. Anglican Marriage and Family counseling (AFC) was established in 1975. From hasty beginnings in 1976 as Salvage to Care, the Op shops have now become an integral and essential segment of the organization. The original concept was for the needs of the community to be established at the grass roots glossy within the Parishes. Anglicare WA would then work within the context of these needs. Anglicare WA today is probably a far larger, and very different organization to that envisaged by Archbishop Sam bell in the premature 1970's. We are now a statewide community services agency with a unique range of services. Our uniqueness lies in two key elements of our operations. Firstly we are a truly statewide organization with services provided from over 30 locations from Kununurra in the North to Albany in the South. This service scope is further enhanced by our growing partnership with Anglican parishes delivering their own services to their local communities.
